There’s an excellent feature on Kazushi Sakuraba at Bloody Elbow and his style of Catch Wrestling that run rampant in the early years of Pride Fighting Championships. It’s great to see major MMA blogs start to take note of Catch Wrestling’s place and value not only in a historical context but where Catch fits in today’s world of grappling and full contact fighting.
Bloody Elbow is the number one blog in SBNation generally, and not just in the MMA section. I’ve become privelleged enough to be able to write for another SBNation blog Cageside Seats as well as contribute to some articles on Bloody Elbow, but long before I started even reading their blogs Bloody Elbow founding editor KidNate has had an interest in Catch Wrestling through his fandom of fighters like Sakuraba and the Japanese MMA scene.
I can honestly say no other major MMA blog has given this much recent coverage to the great art of Catch Wrestling, and Bloody Elbow & Co should be in everyone’s internet bookmarks / favourites.
