Fujii set to make history tonight at Bellator

The culmination of Bellator’s first Womens 115lbs tournament air tonight, hopefully on Fox Sports Net (FSN) without being pre-empted by other sports programming (check local listings).

Undefeated submission expert, Catch Wrestler and Josh Barnett protegé Megumi Fujii puts her undefeated record and No#1 position in the sport on the line against fearsome striker Zoila Frausto who’s looking to exploit her size and strength advantage. It’s a classic style match up that will likely hinge on the first takedown.

Lots of coverage for tonight’s event even in the wake of the huge Cain Velasquez win over Brock Lesnar this past weekend.

First a great video put out by The Grappling Dummy interviewing Fujii:

The Grappling Dummy: Megumi Fujii, September 2010 from martial farts on Vimeo.

USA Today has a short feature on tonight’s match up on their website.

Talented journalist Josh Gross of Sports Illustrated.com has an article up arguing Fujii has a chance to make MMA history with a record 23 wins in a row with no losses.

While Fighters.com ponders if Fujii could be the greatest fighter of all time.

Here’s wishing all the best for Mega Megu tonight!
